Gemma 19 Months

Since I didn't write a post about Gemma being 1.5 I figured I'd do one now.

Gemma is talking a lot! She's putting two or more words together now like "my seat" and "night night elsie". But she still has a long way to go. She gets frustrated a lot more now when she wants something but doesn't know how to say it, she's just pull and my leg and yell.  Usually she wants food haha.

She loves animals and we are always looking at books with animals or listening to/ singing Old McDonald had a Farm.

She loves to play with and tease her sister by taking her toys.  Sisterly love.

She sleeps from 7pm until about 630-7am.

Her favorite toy is still her baby doll and she sleeps with her at night too.

She just got a bunch more teeth and has all of them now until she gets her two year old molars. Thankfully.

She's not afraid of anything.  She frequently jumps off the couch or tries to go down stairs without holding on.  Giving me so many heart attacks.

We love her so much!

Gemma 17 Months

Our sweet Gem is 17 months!

Words: mama, dada, elsie, papa, up, out, no, mine, ya, baby, boob 😂, outside, eat,   cheese, off, shoe, toes, help, ow, poop, butt, dog. And she will try to repeat almost any word of you ask her.

We stopped breastfeeding at 16.5 months.  My milk was mostly gone and I felt she was nursing just for comfort at this point. So when we got back from vacation, I just quit. It was pretty easy actually. She was only asking for it once a day. I only had to tell her no a handful of times. Then a week later she got sick. That was the hardest part. She wanted to nurse for comfort and I felt so awful telling her no. But alas, we are done.

As for eating, she eats mostly what we eat. I keep chicken nuggets and stuff on hand in case I make something I know she doesn't like. She eats a lot of berries and bananas for snacks. I also buy her whole milk yogurt pouches. I give her milk in a straw cup in the morning and evening.

23lbs 31 ish inches. She got weighed and measured this week at the doctor's office. She ended up having the Roseola virus.

I can't believe shes almost one and a half. Where does the time go? My silly, sweet, smart girl.

Gemma at 15 Months

Gemma is 15 months old.

Saying: mama, Dada, sis, papa, out, up, "I did it", this, Ya (and she shakes her head yes and no)

Eating: all fruits, sweet potatoes, very few meats but she does like the Kidfresh chicken meatballs

Sleeping through the night 98% of the time from 7pm until about 6-7am

She loves playing outside and in the dirt. She also loves going down slides.

Loves when Elsie sings to her (Twinkle Twinkle little star) and watching kids shows that have kids songs like wheels on the bus and old McDonald.

Her favorite toy is her baby doll.

Gemma is growing so fast! She is definitely all toddler now! I love this age so much.

Elsie is THREE!

I can't believe the little baby girl that made me a Mama is THREE!

She is sweet and very sassy. Quite the threenager. Everything is "I do it" in "two minutes".

Her favorite activities are watching TV (Daniel Tiger or Dora), coloring, and wearing dresses (the fancier the better).

In typical toddler fashion, she only eats what she wants, when she wants it. She's a big fan of ramen noodles, chicken nuggets, and french fries.

Lately, she hates taking a bath and also wearing socks.

She loves princesses, especially Belle. And she also loves to help cook or bake.

She loves school, most of the time.

She also loves her sister, most of the time, as long as she isn't taking her toys. But they frequently give each other hugs and wrestle to the ground. It's the beginning of a great friendship. Haha

Can't wait to see how Elsie grows and changes this coming year. She's an amazing, smart, fiercely independent little girl!

Gemma is ONE!

Wow. The first year definitely goes by faster with your second child. I can't believe it. It feels like yesterday I was impatiently waiting for Gemma to make her (week late) entrance to the world.

This little lady is the LIGHT of our lives. She is all smiles all (most) of the time.

She is drooling buckets. Still only 7 teeth though.

She took her first steps!! and spent all month practicing three or four steps at a time. She's really starting to walk more but not walking 100% of the time yet.

Her favorite toy is a random baby doll that cries that Elsie got at her first Christmas. Gemma loves it!

She started saying words! She can say Mama, Dada, hi, hey, out, and hot.

She's still waking at night usually once or twice. Every now and then she'll sleep through.

We made it a whole year breastfeeding!! So excited for us! Not sure when /how to stop. She has milk about 5 times a day. She absolutely does not like regular cows milk.

She eats mostly table foods with some puree pouches to get veggies in her.  She's getting a little more picky lately. Sometimes she'll eat everything you give her and other times she'll throw it in the floor one by one.

We celebrated Gemma's birthday back at the end of December with family in Ohio. However,we've been celebrating all month really and  she had a few gifts and a blueberry muffin on the eve of her birthday at home with me and Elsie.

I can't believe we have two toddlers!
